Wormhole Demo
A downloadable game
Wormholes are one of the most interesting and beautiful theoretical objects humans have been able to conceive. Since the creators of Interstellar published their paper with the mathematics of how light traverses a wormhole, I adapted the equations and shaders to make an interactable, real-time rendering of a wormhole.
Fly through the wormhole smoothly transitioning from one side to the other, orbit around the wormhole, circle around the throat, change the length of the throat, and cycle through loads of skyboxes and grid projections to help you understand the inner mechanics of a wormhole!
I have no idea what the minimum hardware requirements are, but a graphics card is required. A graphics card that specializes in raytracing is extremely beneficial. My RTX 3090 was able to maintain 4k 144fps and I've been able to run this on a GTX 1080 at lower framerates since it doesn't specialize in raytracing.

why doesn't O show controls?
It should. Controls are shown by default and the only way to hide them is to press the letter 'O' (not zero). Try closing the app and opening it again and see if pressing 'O' toggles the controls.
i was running it with wine, but now im using proton and it works. i wonder why it doesn't work with wine
Sadly not very close to the physical reality. I'd suggest checking the website of Professor Andrew Hamilton who has a whole section of infos and physically/mathematically correct animations of falling into a black hole and travelling through a Reissner-Nordström black hole, which would be the entry side of a worm hole (Kerr black holes count too).

one of the best worm holes simulations out right now .. I've always had questions and dreams even where I've traveled this simulation . you really gave us a jewel and removes the thoughts of scariness of the unknown . great job . Q? how do i add the different images to the program ?
I believe that because of the way Unity compresses the files when creating the executable that there isn't a way to easily hot-drop files.
If you have some good backgrounds, I could add them as options and create a new executable if you'd like.
This is super amazing, makes you wonder if black holes are really just gateways :D
